Educational Activities
Throughout the school year we will have various Educational Activities off campus. Each event will be free to our students and will include a meal. Below are some of the events we’ve held.
Meals on Wheels Thanksgiving Cards
We have our students make Thanksgiving Cards which will be delivered on Thanksgiving to all the Meals on Wheels recipients.
Take A Kid to the Game – Texas Tech Football Game
Our students are taken to a Texas Tech football game to experience what its like to be at a college gameday atmosphere. They’ll get to witness all the school pride that is on display.
TTU J.T. & Margaret Talkington Leadership Academy
Our students teamed up with student athletes from Texas Tech to learn the importance of teamwork and leadership.
TTU Health Sciences Center – Teen Straight Talk
We tackle important topics such as bullying, sex education and peer pressure.
Financial Literacy Workshop
We’ve partnered with local banks in the community to help educate our kids about the importance of managing money
Museum Tours
We’ve taken our students to various local museums to educate them on the importance of history and all those who came before us.
College Tour
Our students are taken on a campus tour of a local university and get a first hand look of what its like to be in college.
Camping
Our students get to experience the outdoors during our spring camping trip.
